Why Uganda?

Peter was nudged by God almost three years ago to go with a team, including Fr. Greg, on our church's second mission trip to N. Uganda.  They would be serving Bishop Johnson Gakumba by observing, listening, and discerning what God is doing there and how He was inviting the church into His plan.  Peter came home with a burning passion and the seed of a vision planted inside him by Bishop Johnson.  After some stubborn resistance, God drew me to the next trip to Gulu this past June.  It was on that trip that God started to turn my world upside down and show me a  much bigger picture than I had had for His world and my life as it pertained to His plan.  Through prayers and encouragement, divine circumstances, and scripture, we cannot silence this call of our family, Peter, Karen, William Henry (9), Peter John (5), and Emory (3), to a new world in Christ.  We're not going to tell you it's because we are so immensely talented or that we have great resources (you'd know we were lying), but God's ways are not our ways.  He will use whatever He chooses in our lives to accomplish His purposes.  We pray for all our senders and our families, for the strength of our church, for us to trust Him in everything, for protection and provision and for God's will to be done.  As a family we are excited as we have embarked on another BIG ADVENTURE!  It's all about Jesus; let Him get all the honor and glory!  Every knee shall bow, every tongue confess that He is the one God!
